Sophie McMullen BSc (Hons) Chiropractic
Having worked in chiropractic clinics located in Broomhill and Chapeltown for 11 years, Sophie has decided to bring her excellent range of Chiropractic skills to Chiropractic Works. Sophie has built up a wide range of experience in a number of areas of Chiropractic having done further training in the Chiropractic assessment and treatment of babies and toddlers, the pregnant pelvis, sports injuries and dry needling. This is alongside the wealth of knowledge in the treatment and management of the more common lower back and neck issues we see on a daily basis.
I love what I do! It’s great when I can help people get back to doing what they enjoy with less pain and discomfort. People usually say they wish they had started with Chiropractic years ago!

I am a Musculoskeletal physiotherapist with years of experience in managing pain and injuries in a large range of people from all different backgrounds and activity levels. I have spent the last few years working as a lead physiotherapist in my hometown of Bristol and made the move up to the midlands last year to enjoy more of the outdoors. I am a specialist in managing long-term pain conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia and chronic back pain alongside treating a wide range of problems in the hip and knee with a particular interest in conditions affecting the shoulder.
I use a range of treatment conditions, such as manual therapy including massage, joint mobilisations, tendon friction work, alongside working with people to manage lifestyle adjustments, work on rehabilitation plans and find ways to weave rehab work into your day to day life to get you back doing the things you love as quickly as possible! I will assess all aspects of your situation and help break down the likely causes of your restrictions and work with you to make a plan that is accessible and manageable so we set you up to thrive rather than fail.
In my spare time you can find me climbing in the peak district, fishing or playing the piano - and from a distance, most likely hear me currently learning to play the saxophone!”
Feel free to cut stuff out if you like or let me know if you want it changed at all. Any longer and I think people would stop reading - could possibly do with being cut down a bit I imagine, let me know. Think that covers bio and how I treat but if you wanted it separately as well you could use that middle section?
“I use evidenced-based and efficient assessment skills to quickly diagnose your condition, and then begin working alongside people to manage lifestyle adjustments, use hand’s on therapy techniques to ease pain, work on rehabilitation plans and find ways to weave rehab work into your day to day life to get you back doing the things you love as quickly as possible! I first discovered the power of Chiropractic when I was 11 years old, having injured my back whilst playing sport, my father took me to a Chiropractor. It is thanks to this Chiropractor, who was funny and inspirational that I became a Chiropractor, even if I didn’t realise it at the time! Having graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2008, one of only two European accredited programs in the UK. I am now a Chiropractor and owner of Chiropractic Works, Ecclesall Road, Sheffield. Since graduating I have studied further national and international courses in extremity adjusting (adjustments specifically for the elbow, wrist, shoulder knee and hip) and paediatric techniques.
I have spoken regularly on BBC Radio Sheffield, advising listeners who call in with their health questions. I have also been invited to give health talks to Hallam University employees, discussing such topics as back care at work, ergonomics and the importance of posture.
I enjoy seeing a wide range of conditions in patients spanning from the young to the elderly often within the same family. I am a good listener and am passionate to get the message of the many benefits of safe and natural Chiropractic care can give people by optimising the function of the nervous system, enabling the body to work better.

Chiropractic has always been an important part of life for me and my family. It has kept us feeling and functioning at our best through everything from sports injuries to pregnancy, as well as the general ups and downs of life.
After graduating with a Master of Chiropractic (MChiro) from the AECC School of Chiropractic at Health Sciences University, I feel so lucky to do a job that I love and am so passionate about. It is a real honour to help people to get better and stay well. My approach is holistic, considering the body as a whole. I use an evidence-based, hands-on approach alongside rehabilitation and lifestyle advice to help you reach your goals as efficiently as possible, and to support long-term health and function.
I have particular interests in paediatric and infant care along with women’s health, having completed further studies in these areas.
Aside from work, I love spending time with friends and family, and am outdoors surrounded by nature as much as possible, whether it’s hiking, running, wild swimming or with my horse.
